The second version of the Database of Allergy and Asthma Biomarkers (DAAB-V2) is a repository of
molecular biomarkers of atopic asthma and other allergic diseases across various organisms (like
human, mouse, rat, dog, guinea pig, cynomolgus monkey) obtained from published genomic, proteomic
and epigenetic studies.
What's New in DAAB-V2:
Relational Database with four entity tables [Master table - 14705 entries,
SNP table - 1201 entries, Structure Table - 10629 entries and Drug Table - 320 entries].
12551 new entries (in Master Table) on genes or proteins differentially expressed in allergic diseases.
New attributes - GO Molecular Function Terms , GO Biological Processes Terms, SNP and Protein structures.
Hyperlink to BioGRID ID for protein-protein interaction information.
New Keyword Search Option allows the user to query DAAB-V2 using all or one of the keys from the drop
down list of keys (like Disease, Organism, Omics Approach, Tissue Type, Gene, GO Molecular Function, GO Biological
Process, Structure).
Advanced Search Option for comprehensive search using a user friendly Logical query interface.
User friendly Browse page page allows the user to browse the data contained in DAAB-V2
by –
a) SNP biomarkers in alphabetical order,
b) Expression Biomarkers for individual disease across different organisms and tissue types,
c) probable Gene Regulatory Networks across the three major allergic diseases
(atopic asthma, allergic rhinitis and atopic dermatitis) in human, and
d) Protein Structure in alphabetical order.
Utility of the Database
Enables identification of molecular and SNP biomarkers of allergy - either unique to specific allergic
diseases or common among various allergic conditions like allergic dermatitis, allergic rhinitis, atopic asthma.
Serves as highly informative data source platform for other downstream analyses including network analysis,
comparative analysis across allergic diseases.
